Adult Woodwind Ensemble

Adult Chamber Ensemble

Our congregation is blessed with many fine string players who come together to accompany large choral works and lead worship on festival Sundays. They accompany worship hymns and anthems frequently as well, or on occasion, join the Brass and Woodwind ensembles creating a Churchestra. The group is comprised of mature high school players and adults. Rehearsals are arranged.

Children and Youth Brass and Woodwinds

A mentoring program for younger brass and woodwinds players. This is open to younger wind and brass players who have begun playing in their school band programs. Here at FPC they will be invited to sit alongside the adult players once a month and learn hymns, chorales, and companionship with some of the adult players in the congregation. To see what it’s all about: email Dennis Pedde or call him at 338-3254.

Youth Chamber Ensemble

Directed by Candace Wiebener

This group of youth string players is open to those who have finished Suzuki book II or the equivalent. They rehearse for several weeks prior to their bi-annual worship leadership.

Churchestra

Directed by Dennis Pedde

On occasion, our brass, woodwinds, and string groups come together and play larger ensemble pieces anthems, hymns or service music. These rehearsals are arranged to fit participants schedules and occur approximately quarterly.

Drumming Circle

The Drumming Circle is a group that plays only occasionally during worship. One need not have percussion experience to join. Drumming is for everyone and getting started is easy!  The group meets prior to worship on Sundays when they lead in worship, such as World Communion Sunday, Pentecost and other services when global music is included in the service.

Small Ensembles

There are opportunities for other instrumentalists to participate in worship leadership at both worship services. If you are interested in playing your instrument to the glory of God, contact Darlene Bergman.
